GameOnOver Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 30, 2026
Who we are
GameOnOver is operated by Trent Ventures LLC, doing business as GameOnOver. This policy explains what information GameOnOver collects, how it is used, and who can see it. It applies to the website at gameonover.com and the web app at app.gameonover.com. GameOnOver is in beta, so features may change.
GameOnOver helps board game and tabletop RPG players find each other and meet up in person. Many meetups involve real people, real places and sometimes private homes, so please read the sections on location and who can see what.
If you have questions, contact us at help@gameonover.com.
What we collect
Account information
- Email address and password, handled through our sign-in provider, Supabase.
- A display name, which the app calls your "table name."
- We do not collect a phone number or date of birth. You must confirm your email through a link we send you.
Profile information
- Your display name and bio.
- A username that is assigned to you automatically.
- A game audience preference (adult, kids or all), which filters the games we suggest.
- Your plan (Standard, Plus or Pro).
- Whether you have passed identity verification, and when.
- The status of your Stripe payout account, if you are a host who accepts paid RSVPs.
- Your number of hosted events and your host and player ratings.
Events and RSVPs
- Details of events you create, including game, start and end times, location, comments, whether the event is public or invite only, the kids policy, an optional age range, maximum attendees, a verified players only setting, recurring series settings and any platform fee.
- Your RSVPs, including your status and party size. For paid RSVPs, we also store a payment reference.
- Email invitations. If a host invites someone by email, we store that email address, even if the person has no account.
- Games played at events.
Ratings
- Ratings that players and hosts give each other after events. Averages are shown on the service.
Messages and community content
- Direct messages between users.
- Group chat messages in Tables.
- Posts you make in the Community feed.
- Friend connections.
Game reports and submissions
- Reports you file about a game and games you submit to the catalog.
Location
- See the location section below.
Payment and verification information
- See the payments and identity checks section below.
Technical information
- Our hosting provider, Vercel, receives request logs that include IP addresses. Mapbox receives your IP address when maps load in your browser.
Email records
- We keep recipient email addresses for reminder and event emails that we send.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Create and run your account and sign you in.
- Show events, RSVPs, attendee lists, ratings, messages and community posts.
- Suggest games based on your audience preference.
- Place events on maps and show where they are.
- Send transactional and event emails, including reminders and invitations.
- Process subscriptions and paid RSVPs.
- Run identity checks for hosts.
- Review game reports and game submissions.
- Operate and administer the service.
GameOnOver does not currently use analytics services or advertising cookies.
Who can see what
- Public events can be seen by all signed-in users. Our database rules also allow public events to be read without signing in, so treat anything in a public event as public.
- Invite only events can be seen by the host and by people who have accepted an invitation. Invitations can be opened through a private link, and the invitation page shows the event location.
- Event pages show the event details, including the location exactly as the host typed it. They also show attendee display names and player ratings to people who can view the event.
- Hosts can see the list of people who RSVP to their events.
- Direct messages are visible to the sender and the recipient.
- Table chat is visible to active members of that Table.
- Community posts are visible to everyone and should be treated as public. You can delete your own posts and your own RSVPs.
- Ratings you give or receive count toward averages shown on the service.
- Your email address and password are not shown to other users.
- Administrators of GameOnOver can access account data to run the service and review game reports and submissions.
Messages are not moderated. There is no in-app way to report or block another user.
Location
Hosts type a location for each event. It is free text and can be a street address. Whatever the host types is shown exactly as typed to anyone who can see the event, on the event page, on invitation pages and on map pins. We do not hide or approximate addresses. If a host enters a home address, everyone who can see the event will see it. Please think carefully before entering a home address.
We send the location text to Mapbox, which converts it into a map point. The geocoding is limited to the United States. We store that point with the event.
Your browser may also ask for permission to use your device location. This request appears once per session. You can decline.
Payments and identity checks
Subscriptions. Plus and Pro subscriptions are paid through Stripe Checkout. We send Stripe your email address. Stripe collects and stores your payment card details. GameOnOver does not store your card number. We store your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, your plan, the subscription status and the end of the current paid period.
Paid RSVPs. Some hosts on the Pro plan can charge for RSVPs through Stripe Connect Express. The host gives Stripe the payout and verification information it requires. When you pay for an RSVP, the payment is made by card through Stripe and goes to the host's Stripe account. GameOnOver keeps a platform fee per attendee. We store a payment reference with your RSVP.
Identity checks. Hosts must pass a Stripe Identity document check to create events. Stripe runs the check and handles the identity documents. GameOnOver stores only the status of the check, whether you are verified and when.
Third-party services
We use these services to run GameOnOver:
- Supabase provides sign-in, our database and real-time features. It stores account, profile, event, message and related data.
- Stripe provides subscription checkout, identity verification, host payouts and RSVP payments.
- Vercel hosts the service and receives request logs, including IP addresses.
- Mapbox provides maps and location search. It receives location text and your IP address.
- Resend sends our transactional and event emails. It receives the recipient email address and event details.
- Amazon is involved through links and catalog images. As an Amazon Associate, GameOnOver earns from qualifying purchases. Some game links go to Amazon. The app does not send any user data to Amazon. Amazon may set its own cookies when you click a link.
Each provider handles data under its own terms and privacy policy.
How we share data
We share data in these ways:
- With the service providers listed above, to run GameOnOver.
- With other users, as described in the who can see what section.
- With hosts, who see attendees who RSVP to their events.
- With a host's Stripe account, for paid RSVPs.
- With Amazon only if you choose to click an Amazon link, in which case Amazon may use its own cookies.
We do not share data with analytics or advertising networks.
Cookies and browser storage
- Sign-in cookies. Supabase sets cookies that keep you signed in.
- Session storage. Your browser stores a small item for the current session that records that we have already asked about your location.
- Maps. Mapbox may use browser storage and may collect usage data when maps load.
- Amazon. Amazon may set cookies when you click an Amazon link.
The app itself does not set tracking or advertising cookies.
Account deletion
You can ask us to delete your account by emailing help@gameonover.com. There is no self-serve delete option in the app today, and deletion happens only on request.
When we delete your account, we delete:
- Your profile and your subscription record in our system.
- Events and recurring series you host.
- Your RSVPs.
- Ratings you gave and ratings you received.
- Your friend connections.
- Your direct messages.
- Your Community posts.
- Tables you own and your Table memberships.
- Your Table chat messages.
Some things stay, but are no longer linked to your account:
- Game reports you filed.
- Game submissions you made.
- Invitations you sent.
Stripe records stay with Stripe. We do not delete your Stripe customer record, your Stripe Identity records or your Stripe Connect account. Stripe keeps and handles those under its own policies. If you have a paid subscription, tell us in your email whether you also want to cancel it.
Deleting your account cannot undo what others have already seen or copied. It does not remove information that other people have stored themselves.
Kids and age
GameOnOver is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account or use GameOnOver. We do not check or verify age. By using the service, you confirm that you are 18 or older. Children do not hold accounts.
Children at events: safety rules
- A child may attend an event only with their own parent or guardian.
- The parent or guardian must be present and actively supervising the child for the entire event.
- No drop-off. The parent or guardian must never leave the child with the host or with other attendees.
Events can be marked No kids, Kids welcome or Kid focused. Kids welcome and Kid focused events are for adult users who bring children under their own supervision. Kid focused events can be created only by Plus and Pro hosts and by administrators. They may list a free text age range.
Responsibility and risk. The parent or guardian is solely responsible for the child's safety and conduct. GameOnOver does not screen, supervise or run events. Hosts and attendees do. A parent or guardian who brings a child assumes the risks of doing so. The disclaimers and limitation of liability in our Terms at gameonover.com/terms apply.
No screening. We do not check age and we do not run background checks. Hosts must pass a Stripe Identity document check to create events. That check is not a background check and does not screen for child safety. A Kids welcome or Kid focused label is not a promise that an event, its host or its attendees are safe for children.
Security
- Accounts require an email address and password, and you must confirm your email through a link.
- Our database rules limit access to some information, such as direct messages, to the people involved.
- Payment card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by GameOnOver.
No online service can guarantee complete security. You are responsible for choosing a strong password and keeping it private.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always at gameonover.com/privacy, and the effective date at the top shows when it was last changed. By continuing to use GameOnOver after a change, you accept the updated policy.
